VA Secretary visits DAV HQ

Disabled American Veterans issued the following today:

Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald toured DAV (Disabled American Veterans) National Headquarters in Cold Spring, Ky., today and discussed his efforts to rebuild trust with America’s veterans and their caregivers, improve their service experiences and chart a course for long-term reform of the VA.

McDonald, former Chairman, President and CEO of Proctor & Gamble, is the first VA Secretary in recent history to visit the charity’s headquarters.

“Since his appointment, we have been working closely with the Secretary to ensure VA is doing everything possible to fulfill the promises we made to the men and women who sacrificed for our nation,” said DAV Headquarters Executive Director Barry Jesinoski. “He has a difficult task ahead of him, but we’re confident in his abilities, leadership and the direction he is taking to address our concerns and improve the services and care that veterans have earned.”

In addition to meeting with DAV’s senior leadership, Secretary McDonald visited the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
