Iraq suffers while Haider and Hillary play and offer excuses

Abandoned buildings, schools & makeshift camps, these are the places thousands of kids call home in today.

As the suffering in Iraq continues, Hillary Clinton continues to pursue the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.  Yesterday, AFP reported "[t]hat the FBI has formally confirmed it is investigating Hillary Clinton's private e-mails."

Anyone remember the summer of 2008?

John Edwards fleeing to a bathroom and hiding there?

Having fathered a child out of wedlock (and while married to another woman) was enough to make sleazy Edwards hide his face in shame.

But Hillary?

Shameless.

Take the shame, Hillary, take the shame.

This isn't even about innocent or guilty.

This is about her being the subject of a federal investigation and refusing to admit that this puts her and the party at risk.

She should be announcing that she's suspending her campaign.

What kind of an ego do you have to have to be under federal investigation and be willing to shove that onto an entire political party for your own desire to be president?

And she can whine "vast right wing conspiracy" and everything else she wants to, she brought this on herself.

No one forced her to do what she did.

No one forced her to lie about what she did.

And she's lied about it.

Now she wants to involve the entire country in a scandal of her own making.

That really is the Clinton way, isn't it?

We'll be focusing on Hillary and accountability in the next snapshot -- specifically detailing how the media gives her a pass and let's her get away with saying any lie.

Turning to another liar and/or fool, Haider al-Abadi.  MIDDLE EAST MONITOR reports:

Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has attributed the country’s economic crisis to the sharp decrease in oil prices in the global oil market, calling for a reshuffle of the cabinet to improve the country’s ailing economy.
Abadi explained that he has a “clear vision and detailed policy that would enable Iraq to pass the economic crisis”.

It's cute how the vast and ongoing government corruption never comes up in any of these explanations.

It's also cute how in 2008, 2009 and 2010, you had Osama al-Nujaifi and Tareq al-Hashemi repeatedly calling for Iraq to diversify its economy and warning of the effects falling oil prices could have and yet nothing was done then or since.

So even if the dropping price of oil is impacting, (a) the move to diversify the economy should have taken place long ago and (b) you factor in such things when proposing yearly budgets.

Haider has proven to be highly ineffectual.

Why did Barack install him?  Because he was Nouri al-Maliki-lite?

Kristina Wong (THE HILL) notes Barack and Iraq:

It was principally Obama’s opposition to the Iraq War that rallied many voters in 2008, but others, especially liberal Democrats, also hoped he would end the war in
Afghanistan.
But with less than a year left in the White House, Obama and the United States have not fully disentangled from either conflict — and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has emerged as a new threat.
Some who served the president at the highest levels don’t think history will render a favorable verdict on his handling of Iraq and Afghanistan.
